glamour magick you can practice every day ᥫ᭡
you can use glamour magick for everything, not just beauty and love and that's why it's my favorite kind of magick
daily showers:
washing your body, your face or your hair can be such a powerful practice. enchant your soap, body wash, face wash and shampoo and use them to remove all the negative energy, any bad thoughts, insecurities, bad memories, health problems and just anything you want to get rid of. i do that by holding the tool (e.g. a bar of soap) in both of my hands and i just focus on my intention for a while. something like "this soap will wash off any negative energy that clings to me" or "this shampoo will get rid of any negative thoughts i have"
face, body and hair care:
just like you can enchant your beauty products that wash your body to remove any bad energy, you can enchant any products you're going to leave on your body to bring positive things into your life. i use my conditioner to give me confidence, i use my magical toner for beauty, love and attraction, i use body lotion and moisturizer for protection and hair oils for abundance.
mirror magick:
something as simple as looking at yourself in the mirror, repeating positive affirmations, spells and visualizing yourself as the best version of yourself can absolutely change your life. i love how confident and beautiful it makes me feel.
enchanted jewelry and perfume:
just like any beauty and skincare products, you can enchant your jewelry or your perfume and wear it. love, good luck, protection, attraction, confidence, anything you need and want!
color magick:
color magick can be a part of glamour magick too! just pick the right color behind your intention and add it to your outfit or makeup or paint your nails with that color.
hair:
i already mentioned how washing and conditioning your hair but brushing it can also be a great ritual! brush it gently and repeat your spells and affirmations. your hair easily absorbs energy, it's like a sponge. so if you give it as much love and care and positivity as possible, there will be no space left for any negativity.
those are some of my favorite, very simple glamour rituals and they all have changed my life
take care my loves! ᥫ᭡

Ten lesser-known facts about witches & witchcraft
Witch Bottles: In the 16th and 17th centuries, people believed in the protective power of witch bottles, which were filled with items like nails, hair, and urine to ward off evil spirits and witches.
Flying Ointments: Historical accounts suggest that witches' "flying" was sometimes linked to hallucinogenic ointments, often made from toxic plants like belladonna or mandrake, which were applied to the skin.
Familiars: Witches were believed to have familiars, which were often animals like cats, toads, or birds that assisted them in their magical work. These were considered evil spirits in animal form.
Witch Hunts in the Americas: While the Salem witch trials are well-known, fewer people are aware that other parts of the Americas, such as Brazil and the Caribbean, also had their own witch hunts and trials.
Malleus Maleficarum: This 15th-century book, also known as "The Hammer of Witches," was a significant text that contributed to the witch hunts in Europe. It outlined ways to identify, prosecute, and punish witches.
Witch Marks: During witch trials, accused witches were often searched for "witch marks," unusual blemishes or growths on the body believed to be signs of a pact with the devil.
The Witch's Sabbath: A folklore belief held that witches gathered for secret nocturnal meetings, called sabbaths, where they worshipped the devil, performed rituals, and engaged in revelry.
Witchcraft in Ancient Times: Witchcraft isn't a solely medieval or early modern phenomenon. Evidence of magical practices and beliefs in witchcraft can be traced back to ancient civilizations, such as ancient Greece and Rome.
Witchcraft as a Capital Crime: In many parts of Europe, witchcraft was considered a capital crime, punishable by death. This led to the execution of thousands of people, primarily women, during the witch hunts.
Modern Witchcraft: Contemporary witchcraft, often referred to as Wicca, is a recognized religion that emerged in the mid-20th century. It emphasizes the worship of nature, the practice of magic, and the celebration of seasonal festivals.

a working witch’s guide to paganism in the office
i saw a post recently from someone wishing they could incorporate their practice into their workplace without judgement so here are some ways i do it
essential oils are a great way to cleanse your space/bring in specific energies without bringing attention to your beliefs especially as they’re so popular across the board, i keep a spray bottle with a homemade mix of oils on my desk and once a week i walk around my room spraying and setting my intentions
animal imagery/figures in devotion to your gods, most deities have at least one animal associated to them and something cute and small won’t draw any attention, i keep a little crow plush on my desk in devotion to one of my gods and everyone else thinks it’s just a little decoration
plants! as a green witch/herbalist i know not everyone might share this sentiment but i work so closely with nature that having my work space filled with plants helps me still feel very connected and centered without a second thought
spell jars/sachets can be easily tucked away in desk drawers, i keep one filled with herbs for success hidden away in my filing cabinet and take it out to refresh it in times of high stress
#please feel free to add on your own ideas! these are just some I’ve gotten away with in a very conservative field#bunny speaks#green witch#paganism#pagan#nature#herbalism#herbal witch#hellenism#solar witch#slavic paganism#witchcraft#witchcraft tips#garden witch#kitchen witch#spell jars#hellenic polytheism#polytheist#omnitheism

Explain the basics: CHAKRA
While witchcraft and chakras come from different spiritual traditions, some modern witches blend the two by incorporating energy work from Eastern practices. Even though chakras aren't originally part of witchcraft, understanding them can guide us toward areas where we need to heal or deepen our spiritual practice. Recognizing and working with chakras can help us open up more fully to the spiritual world.
What Are Chakras and How Do They Work?
Chakras might sound mystical, but they're essentially energy centers within your body. The concept comes from ancient Indian traditions like Hinduism and Buddhism. The word "chakra" means "wheel" in Sanskrit, representing spinning energy that flows through us. There are seven main chakras, and each one plays a unique role in your physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
Let’s break them down:
Root Chakra (Muladhara): Located at the base of your spine, this chakra is all about feeling grounded and secure. It relates to your basic needs—think survival, safety, and stability.
Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana): Just below your belly button, this chakra governs your emotions, creativity, and sexual energy. It's about pleasure and how you connect with others.
Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura): Right around your stomach, this one is your center of personal power. Confidence, self-esteem, and willpower are all connected here.
Heart Chakra (Anahata): In the middle of your chest, the heart chakra is all about love—both for yourself and others. It’s where compassion, kindness, and emotional balance reside.
Throat Chakra (Vishuddha): At your throat, this chakra is linked to communication and self-expression. It’s your voice—literally and metaphorically.
Third Eye Chakra (Ajna): Between your eyebrows, this one taps into intuition and spiritual insight. It’s the seat of your inner wisdom.
Crown Chakra (Sahasrara): Located at the top of your head, this chakra connects you to the universe, spiritual consciousness, and enlightenment.
How Do Chakras Work?
Think of your chakras as energy hubs. They take in, distribute, and release energy throughout your body, influencing everything from your mood to your physical health. When they’re in balance, you feel good—physically, emotionally, and mentally. But when a chakra is blocked or overactive, it can cause problems like stress, anxiety, or even illness.
For example, if your heart chakra is blocked, you might struggle with feelings of isolation or difficulty in relationships. But if it’s open and balanced, you’ll feel connected, loved, and able to give love freely.
Does Chakra Energy Flow Inside Us?
Yes, chakra energy flows within you. It’s often called "prana" (life force) or "chi" in other traditions. This energy moves through channels in the body called "nadis." When prana flows freely, you feel balanced and vibrant. But if there’s a blockage—like emotional stress or physical tension—it can disrupt the flow and lead to imbalances in your life.
The good news is that there are plenty of practices to help keep your energy flowing, like yoga, meditation, and breathwork. These tools help clear any blockages and ensure your chakras are in harmony, allowing you to feel more centered and connected in daily life.
Some practice that may include chakra in it:
Understanding Chakras: In Eastern spiritual traditions, particularly in Hinduism and Buddhism, chakras are believed to be energy centers in the body. There are typically seven main chakras, running from the base of the spine to the crown of the head, each associated with specific physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects.
Energy Work in Witchcraft: Many forms of witchcraft involve working with energy, whether for healing, spellcasting, or spiritual transformation. Practitioners may visualize, manipulate, or direct energy in rituals and practices.
Possible Connections: Some modern witches who also work with chakras might integrate chakra practices into their witchcraft rituals. For example:
Aligning Energies: They may use chakra meditation or visualization techniques to balance their own energy before performing rituals or spells.
Correspondences: Each chakra is associated with certain qualities (like creativity, intuition, or grounding). A witch might choose rituals or spells that correspond with the qualities of a specific chakra to enhance their magical work.
Personal Pathways: It’s important to note that the way chakras are integrated into witchcraft practices can vary widely depending on individual beliefs and traditions. Some may view chakras strictly through the lens of their original cultural and spiritual context, while others may adapt these concepts in a more eclectic or personalized manner.

Spirit Work Basics
You voted, I listened. I meant it. So buckle up as we go through the basics of Spirit Work.
I've touched on this on other posts but I'll make a massive post here. This is not going to explain everything and will still be pretty broad. Cause I do not have the time, the knowledge, nor patience to try and explain EVERYTHING.
But I do hope it helps.
Look under the tags advice, spirit communication, spirit work for more detail.
So hello, I'm Sol. I've been working with spirits since I realized I was speaking with them. I had the gift since I was a young child, first spirit I saw being my grandfather on my father's side shortly after he passed away. He was a pastor, supposedly, I was doing the best I could to repeat his favorite verses despite me being a small little shit. I don't remember the verses, I do remember speaking to him a lot however.
Which is where we'll begin, how to speak to spirits.
Maybe she's born with it? Maybe it's insanity~♪
Well, how do we begin with speaking with spirits? There's a number of ways, actually. Some do have the natural ability, like myself but that shouldn't discourage people who are newly trying and don't have that natural affinity for it. Spirits can and will talk to anyone if you open yourself up. Just takes a bit of work. But Sol, you may ask, how do I do that?
If you've been on witchblr for a bit you know what I'm about to say next: Yup.
Meditate.
Now listen, meditation is a way to open yourself up to the spirits around you or just at least signal "hey, I'm open to talk to." It gives you a good sense of your own energy and the energy around you. Meditation doesn't have one look either. A lot of people can't just sit still and kept their legs crossed or be on their knees with their eyes closed (I see you ADHD/ADD people). Hell, my lazy ass will meditate lying down.
Literally the definition of Meditation: to engage in mental exercise (such as concentration on one's breathing or repetition of a mantra) for the purpose of reaching a heightened level of spiritual awareness. transitive verb. : to focus one's thoughts on : reflect on or ponder over. (merriam webster)
It's pretty broad, right? Hell, you can even work out and meditate. I do it all the time. Cause I focus on my breathing and the feeling of energy through my body. Basically you can get creative with it.
While you're meditating, make sure you're feeling your own energy. This can come in a number of ways; waves, your heartbeat, a feeling of something cloaking you etc. While you have that feeling down, envision an opening, whether its a door, or just acknowledging you're reaching out to the other side. Whether or not you get an answer back, you are putting yourself out there and that's half the battle done. Just be sure to know how to close yourself and ward your body. Spirit work and opening yourself like that is no joke and I'd like you to be safe.
To do that, just envision whatever you had opened closed or recede back or whatever you used that worked for you.
Signs to Look for
Some of the more common tells of a spirit hearing and trying to communicate are of the following:
Small echos/voices in the back of your head
Random thoughts that may not be your own
Knocks or things shuffling
Strange dreams
Small phantom touches
Feelings of being watched
And Many More!
"But Sol," some of you might say, "that's really fucking vague and could just be explained away."
Yeah...welcome to spirit work. You thought this shit was easy?!
You have to work on your discernment. It is a skill needed for this type of work.
Seems counterproductive, but it's not! See, if every bump and noise was reported as ghosts or spirits, well...we'd be even less believed than we already are. When doing spirit work, or ghost hunting, you are stuck with the burden of proof and it's a huge burden to have. This is why people ask for repeats of actions, to speak again in recorders and other things. We're asking for repetition, because science is prevalent, especially in spiritualism and occultism. We have to be our own skeptics so when we have something that can't be explained away, we truly have something to celebrate.
Tools on the Job
No one said you had to do this all on vibes. No shame in using tools. I'll more than likely take the time to make specific posts about each tool in the future cause this post is already really long but I'll give you a nice rundown of basic tools.
By the way anyone who tries to shame you for using tools or says "only trainee or baby witches use this or that" are tools themselves (not the good or useful kind) and should not be given the time of day. Tools are fine. Use them for help if you need it because that's what the fuck a tool is for.
Now these aren't all the tools you can use but I'll give you some well known ones. I've seen witches get real creative and it's honestly super cool watching them use strange things that you'd never think about as a witchcraft tool. But that's what makes it so fun.
Tarot cards
Tarot is something I often use. 78 cards all with different meanings. There's many many ways to interpret them and multiple themes that many of them have.
My best advice for these are to just look up the overall meanings both upright and reversed just to have a general consensus of each card. Play around with them a lot, and interpret them the way you would as if you were making a story with them. You can also use them for spirit communication.
Calling forth a spirit allowing them to touch the deck (just leave it for a moment and allow them to influence the deck as it were before doing the spread). Holds a lot of power in your hands but is a little slow.
Pendulum
A pendulum is usually a crystal tied to a string or a chain that can be swung over a board of either yes or no or maybe for its options. Sometimes there is a mock ouija for the pendulum to spell out things as well.
Cool thing about a pendulum is it can be anything that swings if you wish. Some people I've seen take off their necklace and use it as a pendulum just fine. Just have a singular point and you can get to work anywhere with it. Please make sure to ward yourself from invading or malevolent spirits when you do this though.
Lots of pendulum or spirit boards exist and have different templates as well.
This is more of a call and response type of device to use. Especially when you feel a spirit present Still has a fair bit of control in your hands.
Ouija board
The infamous kids game works around the same way a pendulum does, except there is a planchette that slides over the board. This is a call and response based tool much like a pendulum. However, it is a little easier for the ghost to manipulate and control. Which is where all the stupid stories of ghosts completely taking over and fucking up shit takes place. Also, half of the biggest problems are just humans being humans which means victims of groupthink. So... stupidity. Someone freaked so you all freak...the energy gets bad and shit happens. Do your best to remain calm and just work through it.
Also no. ZOZO XOX 2O2O etc does not want your ass. Many spirits claim that shit to get a rise out of you anyway. Guys...no, I swear it does not happen. This is main character energy that none of us have...or want! Even if a demonic entity came in to fuck with you, there are plenty of other ways to do it. Be fucking for real.
Please remain kind and courteous to who you contact. Do not let your paranoia about this tool make you do stupid things. Always say goodbye when you are finished. Try and stay as calm as you can.
Never. Ever leave the planchette on the board unattended. Lest you get an unwanted guest or one that'll overstay their welcome.
Crystal Ball
Crystal Balls are a good way to detect energies. This is normally used in a private setting cause it desires a lot of concentration. Now, I'm admittedly not that knowledgeable in this because I don't use my crystal ball often.
Also, your crystal ball doesn't have to be clear. Mine is obsidian and I love her.
When having your question, focus on it and concentrate. Make sure it is open ended. I mean you can have yes or no, but it's gonna be a bitch to decipher a yes or no answer.
Close your eyes and let the answers come to you in the forms of images and colors and such, examine all you can as just let your intuition work.
Sounds simple but its a rather interesting art form to work on. Symbols and such can confuse you and it's heavy on your interpretation. I'm sure there's books and stuff out there for a general view of this symbol you see might mean this or that but...largely, this is a true test of how you read your intuition.
I'd do it more, if I wasn't closeted and lived with nosy closed-minded people.
C'est la vie.
One important thing though...don't leave your ball uncovered. Especially if it's clear. That's how you end up with burned shit. Those bitches are like mega magnifying glasses. And it happens faster than you think. Science is scary.
Mirror/Water Scrying
Mirror and water scrying is kind of the same as a crystal ball except it's a quicker and often less expensive way to work on your divination.
Some people have a specific mirror that they black out and scry that way. Others have a scrying bowl made for divination alone. It's just as good. You can use any bowl or mirror however. Just be sure to cleanse the area before you start and after you're done.
Some thank the water used for divination before putting it down the sink or in the earth. But that's more of an individual's choice/belief/faith than anything else.
Lots of occultism and spiritualism has a thing with mirrors being portals, openings, etc to the otherside and can bring some unwanted visitors.
And as someone who now sleeps with their mirror facing the wall now, I will say I believe a lot of what people say on that.
I want a goodnights sleep damnit.
Just be sure to cleanse your tools after use. Better safe than sorry.
ETC.
There's a lot of creative ways people can use these tools and magic. So don't think of magic as a recipe for how to be a witch or do witchcraft. That's half the fun of witchcraft.
Discovery.
Finding ways to do things, to hear, to see, to communicate. Yes there are certain tools that work better than others but, we as individual people also work in different ways.
There's a psychic out there who reads asparagus like bones. There's someone who will scry with a puddle on the ground they found. People have their own methods and ways to work their magic and we should learn from them. So if you have some non normal tactic or even something unsual, embrace it to the fullest.
I divine with music. If you ask me it's Apollo's influence. My spirits communicate with music.
When I meet people and get a good vibe on them a song comes to mind, and even if I forget your face, your voice, who you are, that song will remind me what I think of you. Songs pop up in my head when people associated with it are close.
I'm not going to say I'm the only one in the world who does this, cause that would be some bs. But its my tactic and its natural.
Do what is natural for you and not what other witches say you should do.
Even me, I beg you not to try and emulate or follow my advice down to a T if it doesn't work for you. Don't force it to work.
I am just one person, one voice spouting some advice. Take what you can from it, take what helps and work your own path. And then in turn do the same. I'm a path offering person not a director. But that's...just...me...
"But Sol, how do I speak to spirits?"
Talk.
Yeah, that simple. Talk.
This can be in a lot of forms. Some write and burn letters to ancestors, or past family members. Set up a placement for talking to them. Admittedly, a lot of spirit work and communication is experimental. We just warn you over some things because they've happened enough for us as a collective to go ah, a pattern.
I have urns at home so it's pretty easy to say hello in that case.
I am NOT telling you to go into a graveyard and just go wussap. No. Some spirits don't want your tomfuckery. Also if they're feeling really chatty all at once you might get overwhelmed and you will not have a good time. Read the dead room.
Open yourself up. WARD YOURSELF FIRST! PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF THE GODS. But yeah open yourself up. Learn how to open your pathways and close them first. That comes with meditating. Yes, this is why damn near all of us nag the shit out of y'all about meditating.
Just talk and listen. It won't happen immediately. It takes time and a careful ear. Remember signs to look for. You might spot them before you hear them. Small instances of shadows out the corner of your eye. A touch from nowhere, a shiver down your spine. Other things going off or being moved, etc. Slowly, someone or something will receive your message and try to respond in kind.
When you get these small responses, just keep calm and say hello or acknowledge what they've done.
"Oh, someone's here"
"Hello there"
"Are you still here?"
It'll be awkward (try to remember where you are, don't be a weirdo in public), but overtime you'll get better at it.
Conclusion!
Like any skill, spirit communication takes practice.
There are a vast plethora of ways to communicate with tools that I haven't mentioned as well, like automatic writing which is a pretty good beginner way to jump in.
Just have a pen/pencil on paper, write what comes to mind. Its a good way to practice hearing and catching signs as well.
And something I will never stop saying is you don't have to take this journey alone! Especially if you don't want to. Find someone experienced to start this journey with. Someone who calms you, who can support you. Support and asking for help is good. Last thing any of us want is for you to get hurt or scared out of doing this if this is something you really want to do. So call us, talk to us. Confide in more experienced people.
So many times on this site and other places, we are begging to form this beautiful network so we can help one another, give advice, hang out etc.
We are right here, just reach out for us. You'll get a hand back in kind.

Witchcraft Practice & Disability
I have often struggled and grappled a lot with the concept of my practice being able to co-exist with my disabilities. I have been practising witchcraft since before I was made aware of my disability, but my disability sure made themselves aware throughout my practice.
From being unable to get up, plan or do Anything for major events and days, to the simple mundane task of going up to my altar and saying thanks to all my spirits. Every single task was dictated or rather, negated by my disability and my inability to function or do anything.
The only discourse for the same, is a persistent reminder of, "meditate everyday only then are you a witch," "you cannot be a witch unless you have a daily routine and do something everyday" and the list just goes on.
When will we have a collective talk about how such ideas are rooted in sheer ableism and the capitalistic idea of constantly working and being active? Rest is objectively a part of the cycle of nature, periods where we flourish and are active and others when we rest.
Why are we not allowed to extend the same to our bodies and our spirit?
And this is not to say that all spirits and deities you will be working with, will be okay with you vanishing for months on end. Unfortunately promises and oaths made to the spirits do not follow the same rules for disabilites. There are deities and your spirit team that might excuse you and give you that time, but not every spirit you make a contract or contact with are obligared for the same. They are not obligated to stay or do anything in the period that they are not being fed or given something in return. And that is okay. That is why we bite how much we can chew.
But that is in very specific situations, with very specific spirits. You are not ruining yourself or your practice by not being active for a week or for months or hell, even years.
Your disability does not make your practice "armchair witchcraft" (i really bloody hate that phrase).
You are allowed to take breaks. You are allowed to come back later. You are allowed to mourn being unable to practice when you want to. And you are allowed to ask for grace and time from your spirit team and deities.
Your practice is your own and it is horrifying how norms are policed by non-disabled, able-bodied and neurotypical witches for what they feel entitled to.
If you are one of them, clearly, this space and post are not for you. If you do not understand how people go months and years away from their practice, then this is also clearly not for you.
I want to talk more about what can be done during the major periods of breaks, and what not to do. This is not to throw shade at the posts that talk about - pulling 1 card from your bed because sometimes even the energy for that is lacking. (and that is for future posts)
We are disabled. We have needs. We will take up space. We matter.
And a special fuck you for the people who believe that taking medications will "hamper" your intuition.
I would love for other disabled witches to also share about their experiences and how they navigate these periods <3
Happy witching to you and a protective period of Samhain for your loved ones ✨🎃🍂

SET YOUR WARDS? COOL NOW SET YOUR BOUNDARIES!!
Ahhhh, boundaries. The thing many people can’t set in both the spiritual and mundane sense. Well, first what IS a boundary?
What is a boundary?
A boundary is an expectation that you may have for someone else. It is a mutual agreement of what is okay and what isn’t. It’s giving and taking consent in a given circumstance. Boundaries are within all types of connections from friends to family to deity. It is important to have boundaries in all these connections to maintain comfort and understanding.
“Toomixedwitch how the fuck do I set boundaries?”
I’m so glad you asked. It all starts with communication. This goes for mundane and spiritual situations! You want to first outline what it is you want to have rules on. I think the biggest one I always suggest for deity work is “Privacy will always be respected.” You might find deity showing up in places that you’d rather they not… the bathroom for example. So to be able to say “hey can you leave?” Is a boundary that’s expected.
When making boundaries you can write them down in your book of shadows or on paper to help you refer back to them. I always recommend for the first month or so communicating with deity on a certain day or time to check up on boundaries and expectations. This can be surrounding offerings, formality, what the work you do together is, if deity can bring other entities/deities into the space (if you’re in training etc) and so on.
If working with a deity who is on the more chaotic side you may want to outline what they can and can’t do. Can deity affect/mess with/play with/talk to your pets or no? Can deity move the stuff in your room or no? Can deity almost burn your house down or not /hj
How do I maintain these boundaries?
As I say, communicate. Schedule a time and day where you use divination or meditation to go through the list again and see how things are going. Is there anything that needs changing or going into more detail over? Is there anything deity would like in return (if the boundary was related to offerings etc)
The biggest one in both spiritual and mundane connections is being able to say no. Obviously, deities and entities will almost always allow you to say no; you always have a choice and will never be scolded for it. But if it helps you, write it down. “I am able to say no”. Sometimes we need a rule that outright says we can. With that said it’s always important to:
Communicate your discomfort
If you aren’t comfortable or you are struggling you are always allowed to say. ALWAYS. “I’m finding this way of offering tricky at the moment. I am still wanting to give offerings to you and I am willing to do it another way. Do you have an alternative?” BOOM it’s called communication and it is necessary in deity work.
“I am struggling mentally and am very busy right now deity, as you know, but I still worship and devote to you completely. Could you guide me through this time as I lessen my prayer and active work? My hard work and perseverance will be devotion to you.”

if you find prayer difficult or unengaging, consider keeping a "destroy this book" style free writing journal.
You "pray" by writing, scribbling, drawing, practice automatic writing, sigil making, etc, and then dedicate the page to your desired entity by anointing it with oil and herbs, sealing it with wax, staining it with coffee or tea, pressing little scraps of things into the hot wax on top of your prayers, etc.
it's basically a practice of free intuition that feels very very good, better for me than sitting in a dark room with a candle and speaking in a formal tone.
As an added benefit, once you fill your book, if you feel like labeling the pages (I didn't, lol), you have within your possession a lumpy, bumpy, messy compendium of beings you can use to summon that absolutely no one else will know what to do with.

Hi!
I'm looking to get into witchcraft and stuff, but I don't really know where to start? Any advice for a beginner would be amazing!
Hi there!! Thanks so much for your question, I am also still a beginner and still learning, so here are the things I started with:
Start with the Basics: Learn about the fundamental elements of witchcraft—earth, air, fire, water, and spirit. Understanding these will help you balance and work with natural energies.
Set Intentions Clearly: Always be clear about your intentions before performing any spell or ritual. A focused mind leads to more powerful and effective magic.
Create a Sacred Space: Designate a small area in your home for your magical work. It could be as simple as a shelf or a table where you keep your tools and perform rituals.
Keep a Journal: Document your experiences, spells, dreams, and reflections in a journal. This practice helps track your progress and deepen your understanding.
Study Moon Phases: The moon’s phases affect magical workings. Full moons are great for manifestation and energy work, while new moons are ideal for setting intentions and new beginnings.
Respect Nature: Spend time in nature and develop a connection with it. Collect natural items like stones, leaves, and water for your rituals, and always ask for permission and give thanks.
Learn to Ground and Center: Practice grounding (connecting with the Earth’s energy) and centering (focusing your own energy) regularly to stay balanced and focused.
Use Simple Tools: You don’t need fancy tools to start. A candle, a few crystals, and some herbs can be enough for many spells and rituals.
Start with Simple Spells: Begin with simple, effective spells like protection, cleansing, or intention-setting spells. Gradually move to more complex rituals as you gain confidence.
I hope this is helpful! If you need anymore advice or tips please drop me another question or feel free to message me <3

This is my recipe for a cleansing spray. Cleansing sprays can be used to cleanse your tools, you can use them as a room spray, I like to use it to spray myself and my workspace before I do any spellwork. They are great tools to have on hand. You can tailor this to what you have on hand this is just what use.

Dried lemon

Green Witchery and Where to Start
i often see beginners starting out their path to green/garden witchcraft buying tons of books (that mostly all recycle the same few facts) and copious herbs (most of which will go to waste)
and while research is great and i know you’re excited to try out spells you see on tiktok or what have you, you should start out more locally, get to know the earth and its spirits around you
i live in what is quickly becoming a rare ecosystem due to forest fires, overdevelopment, and invasive species, and because of this i spend as much time as i can meditating out in the quickly depleting forests learning all i can from them and for them
are there any endangered species in your area? is there anything you can do to help? is there anything you should avoid in your practice to prevent further damage to your local ecosystem?
these are the things you should be researching as you start out, these are the things that will connect you to the plants you intend to use, not buying yet another book that will tell you for the tenth time that lemons are cleansing

Witches who knit, crochet, or sew, you can make your project into a spell. Before creating it, you can enchant your ball of yarn for a specific purpose. As you’re creating it, repeat an intention every so often. Knot magic is very old, and in my experience, very practical and effective. It’s a great, fun way to incorporate a bit of magic into a mundane (though no less magical) hobby :)
